I’ve somehow found myself committing to complete a 30 day workout/fitness challenge. I’m pretty excited about it and feeling really motivated. Although it is pretty difficult to fit a workout in during a string of nightshifts, I’ve managed to at least get my meal prep down for the days when I have to work. My goal for this week was to pack a healthy lunch every day (to both save money and my stomach from hospital cafeteria food). And I’m proud to say that at the beginning of my third night in a row, I’ve been successful!
It is pretty nice to wake up to a group full of motivators to help me stay inspired and I’m really excited to begin this journey!
Here I am at the start of a new year with an empty blog in front of me. 2014 ended in a bit of a rocky road however I’m looking forward with a positive attitude. This year will be filled with many challenges as I navigate the next steps of my career as well as taking on the task of pursuing my optimum health. I’ve begun a healthy journey that I plan to take to the next level this year. That includes managing my stress and making time for myself.
I’m a twenty-something critical care nurse who has found that maintaining a balance between life and work is the number one way to stay sane. I’ve learned in the last two years that when you spend 12 hours taking care of someone else you need to find a way to unwind and take some time for yourself or you will burn out quickly. This blog will track my ups and downs as I’ve pledged to maintain a sense of stability this year (it’s difficult when working night shifts). Here you will not only find my opinions on various recipes, workouts, and general strategies for maintaining health, you will also find reviews of my favorite (and not so favorite) things. I’m a little bit of a shopaholic so I enjoy getting monthly subscription boxes which I’ll post about from time to time.
